Walk the Walk & Talk the Talk

As we prepare students to become better readers we assess their progress through an assessment known as DIBELS!

This week we are completing the winter assessment for Dibels and I wanted to share somethings I do in my classroom ....

Aside from displaying sight words on my Word Wall I engage students in a Word Walk.

Each week I reassess students and have them walk the Word Walk. Once students are able to read through all of the words 100% I post their names to the Word Walk Champ board.

The prep work is not the easiest but students love walking through the word walk and by having the words posted to the floor, students are encouraged to practice their words throughout the day.

I love to see how students challenge themselves and one another to complete the Word Walk!

Visit my TPT store and grab my Word Walk Resources!!

In addition to sight word activities .... like a Roll, Read, and Highlight
you will also find Nonsense Word Fluency practice sheets.

Download them here for FREE and enjoy:)
